I went to an old spot and found a few teeth on the first dive. I was digging in the mud and felt what was either enamel or glass. I felt around and thought it was too big to be a tooth. I was happy to be wrong. The largest tooth I ever found measures 6.94″. The one I found today is 6.92″. Still no 7″ tooth, but this one is MUCH nicer than the other one. I did not want to go back for a second dive. I just wanted to look at it for awhile. But I tore myself away long enough for a second dive where I found a 6.55″ tooth with enamel peel.

[...] was amazing. He turned down a $15,000 offer for it because he wanted to keep it. Heres the link: http://megateeth.com/blog2010/2010/0…-found-042310/ Last edited by SockMonkey; 12-29-2011 at 01:06 [...]

Speachless!!! WOW!!!
Even though i can’t swim,i would have braved the tiger sharks for that one!
Well done Bill!
Chaching!!! Nice score! Old huntig ground still spittin’ ‘em out!
I was going to be at a fossil show that day but my wife needed help at her gallery over the weekend. If I had gone it would still be down there.
It was a nice score Kevin but no chaching. I am keeping this one.
I know nobody wants to give hot spots away.Where can I take my children for a day to look for teeth walking on low tide. They are 5,10,12 somewhere safe anyone.HHI South carolina
Hi Tim,
I find a lot of teeth diving but I do not know anywhere that you can find them near HHI on the beach. There are spoil piles from dredging on the Savannah River but they are off limits as far as I know.
This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
WOW, and I thought you’d never top that 6.94 tooth you found some years ago. Obviously I was wrong. This one may be a little smaller but the preservation is phenomenal (can’t quite tell on the bourlette though). The enamel, tip and serrations look so good it looks like its been restored. Huge congratulations man, that’s easily a 10 grand tooth and I’m sure its made your year.
The bourrelet is complete I am happy to say. At only 1/50″ smaller than the other one they look identical in size but this one is in much nicer condition. It is the find of a lifetime for sure, but that does not mean that I will not be out there trying to top it.

Woweewoweewow! That’s all I can say about that tooth that I periodically keep going back to your website to see. I keep that page on my phone to look at quite often.
Congrats, Bill! This is a beauty. The great thing about it is the condition…just unreal.
Hello Bill,
I am interested in purchasing some nice magalodons to make jewelry from. I would like 21/2 inch to 5 inch teeth in good condition without nicks. I have a small shop in Canada on Vancouver Island . Would you know where I could perchase these at wholesale prices please. Who would be a good contact?
Thank you for your time and efforts regarding my request.
Regards
Veroonika
im 7 the actuel thing is 50m !
How can I purchase a large Megladon tooth?
I came across your site and love the teeth I have one about four inches had it made into a necklace came out great did not have to damage the tooth in any way to have the silver wire attached for the chain it looks great.
Very Cool!!!
That is a keeper! I have been diving SC for 15yrs and every dive you dream of that 7 or…..8. But you will take anything and still get an adrenalin jolt. Your excitement never fades. I wanted to pass on that a number of my meg teeth are radio active. One has 300 micro rads. Check them with a geiger counter. Cool! I am waiting for the cold weather to hit some new spots. (Critters)
That is the truth. And every time you miss a dive you say “Would today have been the day?”
Thanks,
It is the nicest Megalodon tooth I have ever found!!!
Administrator i have a spot that is full of shark teeth no diving its in a rock bed 1 hr from the beach when the tide goes down there is a rock bed in the middle of the water preserved rock under the mudd through the whole creek ive got over 8 thousand ranging from 1 in to 4 in and a couple 5 and half 2 six in ive also found remains of some large fossilized animal back bones 3 times bigger than a cows and a weird large horned shaped tooth broken in half i know its a tooth it has a core and enamel deposit the river runs into a big swirly hole cave like under the water a know one knows about it u cant see it till u step in it trust me by experience it looks like a regular creek its not ive even found fossilized whale ear its a gold mind if we could just excavate it properly i bet the hole filters everything cause it has to stop there cause aftewr the hole it comes up to a natural rock wall that filters the water only by no body knows about my spot been going for 20 yrs

Hi Alex,
That is very tempting but I will keep it for now.
Thanks though.
Bill
Bill, that is one hell of an awesome tooth. Unreal, stunning, i would not sell that one. BTW, how far down in the sand and mud do you have to dig to find these incredible fossils.?
Thanks Stephen,
I am usually diving around 40 feet deep and have to dig under between 4-8 inches of mud.
Wow that’s Beautiful! and in such Amazing!!! condition

Hi Bill,
been checking out your website and teeth for a while now.But that tooth definately takes the cake.AWESOME!!!
Im an aussie ex navy diver and although Im sorely tempted to buy some teeth nothing would compare with the thrill of diving for one.Any ideas about where to start looking in Oz.Have dived zero vis before and would be very interested.Cheers and happy hunting.
Matt
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the comments. I do not know where to find them there. Good hunting.
Bill
Hi,
That tooth is just amazing.. imagine the shark that was in. Good luck in finding a 7″+ (Maybe an 8″+, haha don’t want to jynx you, but even if you don’t you have this one!).
I’ve been looking at your teeth available, I might have to grab one some day. That 6.20″ composite tooth is appealing.
